Farro (pronounced fahr-oh) is one of the oldest grains cultivated by humans, which was originally found in the fertile crescent of the Middle East and is now grown primarily in Italy.
Like Quinoa, Farro is an ancient grain that is being rediscover by chefs throughout Europe and North America.
Pearled Farro (pearling removes the outer husk of the seed shortening the cooking time) is easy to prepare and is a good source of fiber, protein and iron.
Pearled Farro is an extremely versatile grain making a great side dish when blended with spices and vegetables or Farro can be added to soups and salads. Try Farro for breakfast with a little maple syrup, (or honey) blueberries, and walnuts. Repackaged in a facility that also handles peanuts, tree nuts, wheat and soy. Product of Italy.

Cook it like rice. Use it as a side dish, add meat for a main dish or add it to almost anything. It has a nuty flavor.
