Eden Foods Organic Mekabu Wakame
The ruffled, flowering sprouts at the base of wakame sea vegetable. Wild grown and hand harvested. After harvest is it cleaned, sun dried, misted with pure water, shredded, and dried again. Its sticky texture comes from fucoidan, a highly valued and beneficial polysaccharide. Mekabu has a pleasant, mellow sweet flavor. Use in soups, salads, Japanese style pickles, or as a garnish on top of cooked rice and other grains, traditional noodles, and sushi rolls.

Eden Foods explains: "Though all EDEN organic food is grown, handled, processed, and certified in a way that meets and exceeds the requirements for using the 'USDA Organic' seal, Eden chooses not to use this seal on its food labels. In short this seal does not approach Eden's standards for organic, in practice or in spirit."
