Navitas Naturals Organic Cacao Butter
Navitas Naturals Cacao Butter is the pure, cold-pressed oil of the cacao bean - the source of all cocoa products. Critical to chocolate recipes, cacao butter is a nontoxic solid that melts at body temperature, making it an excellent exotic massage oil and sensuous skin cream.
Cacao butter is made by pressing ground, milled cacao nibs to make a cocoa paste. This process separates the thick and creamy butter from the fibrous powder. Low temperature processing ensures that quality standards are met, and no chemicals or solvents are ever used in the process. Navitas Naturals Cacao Butter is an excellent source of healthy omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids, and also contains natural antioxidants, as well as nutrients that support mood and the immune system.
Hand selected for quality and flavor, our cacao beans are sourced from Peruvian cacao farmers known for strict organic growing and processing practices. After the raw beans are extracted from the fruit, they are washed with purified water before being partially fermented to remove bitterness. Each whole bean is peeled and cold-pressed into a paste before separating the fiber from the oil.
The Latin name of cacao, Theobroma, translates to 'Food of the Gods'. Cacao butter is essential for making chocolate, and it has many other delicious uses, too, in baked goods and raw treats. Its heavenly aroma makes it a wonderful addition to desserts and chocolate recipes.
