Oregon's Wild Harvest Organic Slippery Elm The demand for Slippery Elm has increased in the past ten years. The majority of commercially sold product is wildcrafted without sustainable practices, leaving the tree vulnerable to disease. Oregon's Wild Harvest is proud to offer an extensive line of certified organic encapsulated herbs, as this supports our quest to provide a sustainable source of raw materials in the manufacturing of our products. The Slippery Elm is native to eastern Canada, and the eastern and central United States, where it is found mostly in the Appalachian Mountains. Its name refers to the soothing slippery consistency the inner bark assumes when it is chewed or mixed with water. Native American healers have used the dried inner bark of Slippery Elm trees for centuries, internally and externally. From 1820 to 1960, the bark was listed in the U.S. Pharmacopoeia as a demulcent, emollient and antitussive. Slippery Elm has been used in Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese Medicine for gastrointestinal symptoms. Presently the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recognizes Slippery Elm as a safe and effective option for sore throat and respiratory irritation due to coughs. Gluten Free. GMO Free.

Pure, whole, guaranteed. Fresh from the farm, our herbs receive our organic TLC from the seed to the bottle. Using the most complete, thorough research, quality control and processing methods possible, we offer the fruits of the earth to you, with the best that nature has to give.
Organic farming protects us, farm workers, our children, and our environment. Organic farming uses no pesticides or harmful chemicals, such as those that have been linked to illness in adults and children. Farming organically also nurtures more of a plant's healthy properties and compounds.
As we are stewards of the land and protectors of health, we take organic farming standards very seriously. At Oregon's Wild Harvest, we have pioneered plant harvest and processing techniques. We strive for greater education among health seekers. We are communicators and relationship builders who look toward a healthy biodiversity of environment and economy. We are optimists.
