Bulgur is made from whole wheat that has been soaked and baked to speed up the cooking time.
Low fat; High fiber; Very low sodium; Good source of niacin.
1 Serving: 1/4 Cup Bulgur Wheat, 3/4 Cup water, Dash of salt (optional), Microwave 8-1 min.
2 Servings: 1/2 Cup Bulgur Wheat, 1-1/2 Cups water, 1/4 tsp Salt, Microwave 12-14 minutes.
4 Servings: 1 Cup Bulgur Wheat, 3 Cups water, 1/2 tsp Salt, Microwave 17-19 minutes. Microwave: 1. Place ingredients in a marrow, tall microwave safe bowl. 2. Microwave on High for the minutes above, or until desired consistency.
Stove Top: 1. Add Bulgur Wheat to water, bring to a boil, stirring constantly. 2. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1-12 minutes, or until desired consistency.
Serving Suggestions: Serve with favorite fruit, nuts, raisins. Top with milk, soymilk, or yogurt. Sweeten with honey or maple sugar. (Times may vary with microwave power).
