Organic Maya Chocolate Herbal Coffee, Caffeine Free
Velvety chocolate layered over a lush, dense body with a hint of heat from chiles gives this organic Teeccino beverage a dark roasted intensity to delight the senses.
When Montezuma was drinking his "Nectar of the Gods", a brew that combined cocoa beans with vanilla, honey, and chiles, he was missing one important ingredient. Isn't it a wonder that roasted coffee beans brought from the Middle East would intertwine so deliciously with roasted cacoa beans from the New World? Teeccino's Maya Chocolate honors Montezuma with a hint of heat from chiles beneath rich chocolate blended with dark roasted coffee notes from ramon nuts to create a brew sure to please.

Gluten Information from Teeccino
Although Teeccino contains barley, an independent laboratory at the University of Nebraska that specializes in gluten testing found no detectable levels of gluten in Teeccino. Although gluten is present in barley, it most likely does not extract out of the barley using conventional coffee brewing techniques. Gluten is not extracted by boiling water although it can be extracted using ethanol alcohol, which of course is not present in Teeccino.

For gluten sensitive customers, we highly recommend using a paper filter in a drip coffee maker to brew Teeccino so that no particles of Teeccino can leak into the brewed liquid.
Ingesting small particles of Teeccino could cause sensitivity to gluten and reusable filters are not as completely reliable as paper filters in preventing particles from going through the filter during brewing.

Caroline's rainforest work from the early 1990's in Central America, helping indigenous communities develop markets for their exportable products such as honey, vanilla and herb teas, has come full circle with the launch of the Teeccino Organic Maya line. Featuring ramon nuts, a nutrient-rich food of the Maya civilization that is wild harvested in the Maya Biosphere Reserve in Guatemala, the Organic Maya flavors have created trade for a novel ingredient that helps preserve the rainforest.
1% of the sales of the Teeccino Organic Maya flavors are being donated to non-profit groups working with rural communities in the Maya Biosphere Reserve to develop sustainable rainforest crops and educate women about how to improve their family's nutrition and health.
